AFGE National CIS Council 119
|
To all CIS members:
Council 119 has been approached by USCIS to participate in various work groups. Therefore, Council 119 has volunteer opportunities available in many different areas. This Council supports the concept of volunteerism, and is dedicated to incorporating volunteers in diverse and meaningful ways throughout our work groups. Please see some of the current work groups requiring volunteers below.
A-76 Work Group: We are currently seeking volunteers for both the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Most Efficient Organization (MEO) teams.
Telework Policy: We are looking for a volunteer from a Service Center, District Office, Asylum Office, and Appeals Unit to work to develop the new CIS Telework Policy.

innovative ideas and solutions.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a diverse workload.
Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working with senior management,
employees and union members.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills; highly skilled in
writing and speaking; adept at crafting proposals and other kinds of
communications.
Superb organizational skills; detail oriented with strong follow-through and
the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent planning, prioritizing, organizational and follow through skills
Ability to think strategically.
Ability to represent the bargaining unit in a variety of settings.
AFGE Union member of good standing
These work groups are a great example of how the people of various locals, though culturally and socially diverse, can come together to make positive change.
